What kind of repair services does Sole Survivor offer?

We offer resoling of leather and rubber shoes, zipper repairs on shoes and and bags, and we now have a sneaker and leather restoration service! From resoling Red Wing boots, to recorking Birkenstock and everything in between, Sole Survivor is your go-to shoe repair shop for custom repairs and more!

What are your prices?

Every shoe is different, and the prices will be reflected accordingly. Come in and chat with our knowledgeable staff in order to receive the proper service that accommodates your needs! Custom projects can be discussed in person, and will vary from project to project. Please note we require a deposit of 50% plus tax on all repairs over $20.

How long will the repair(s) take?

The wait time will depend on the project and can vary depending on the season and on the volume of repairs but we typically average between 1 to 4 weeks. We will always contact you as soon as your repair(s) are completed and ready to be picked up. As always, we appreciate your business and look forward to accommodating your individual needs.

How does the process work?

Shoes and other leather items can and often have sentimental value and trusting a new cobbler can prove to be a stressful experience. At Sole Survivor we want to make the entire process as streamlined as possible so you can feel good about getting your footwear fixed.

Drop off your items and one of our knowledgeable and skillful team members will discuss the specific needs of your shoes or boots and tell you exactly how we plan on solving the problem. We will then provide you with a quote.

Can I get same day service? Alternatively can I reserve a spot in line to return when it is my turn in the queue?

Unfortunately we do not offer same day service on our repairs (apart from the occasional polish and/or gentle cleaning uppers). Although we strive to fix your footwear in a timely manner, a quality repair is always completed with veracity and care. Every repair is different and some projects will take longer to complete than others. In the case that an entire overhaul is necessary, we will discuss the options with you in order to provide you with the most accurate timeline. All drop-offs are done on a first-come, first-served basis, and therefore your items must stay in the shop in order to facilitate a speedier repair.

What materials will be used on my shoes?

We use top-of-the-line materials, and in the case we do not have the right material on hand we can always special order should our suppliers have it in stock. Some of the brands we carry includes Vibram, Birkenstock, Red Wing, Avanti, and many more.

I don’t live in Toronto. Can I ship my shoes to your shop?

Yes, you may contact us via email or contact form on the website. Please note shipping will be charged to the customer, and will also affect the turnaround time.

Do you work on leather bags and jackets?

Yes, we can do work on bags, leather jackets, straps, watch straps, hats, belts and any other item you might have made of leather! If you’re unsure you can always contact us or stop by our shop.

What if I forget my repair(s) at the shop?

We do not have enough space to store your items in our shop, and we send out a reminder once your repair approaches this timeline.  If you can’t pick up your item(s) during this timeline please contact us otherwise you will have to hunt down your shoes at our local donation shop!
